When a family member dies, please ask the funeral director to = publish that in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to Santa Mar= ia Council 1443, located at 350 Crystal Lake Avenue, Ha= ddon Township, NJ 08033. This will help us with our many charitable endeavors.

House Comm= ittee

Our House Committee has been set for this year. They are Ed Eissing, Bill Hoffman, John Kemner, Paul Dugan, Reggie Beckett, Jack Schuster, Dan Olivieri, Dan Mc= Namara, and Jim Shields who will be head of the house committee. The council thanks these men for their service.

Ad Book Ne= ws

Work has b= egun for this year’s ad book. The proceeds from this project benefit the S= anta Maria Catholic High School Scholarship Fund as well as many other projects. Your help is needed. Please contact DGK Mike Weiglein (856) 546-1794= for information and forms.

Riversharks Game

Santa Maria Night at the Riversharks will be Tuesday August 21 at 7:05 PM. The opponent will be the Newark Bears. Tickets are $6.00. Family and friends are welcome. This is a fun “Knight” for all. Please contact PGK Mark Kier= nan at (856) 547 – 9155 for tickets

State Officers

The Installation Mass for the New State Officers was held on Saturday, July 14. Tom Ciborski was installed as our new State Deputy along with the other State Officers. Joh= n Moore from the Camden Diocese is now State Warden. DD John A. Erwin was installed as District Deputy for a second t= erm.

Old Fashioned Beef & Beer =

A Beef &am= p; Beer will be held on Saturday August 25^th from 4 – 8 PM at the council home. This is a fundraiser for the SSG Joseph M. Weiglein Scholarship Fund. There will be a band, a DJ, a Chinese Auction and more. The cost is $25 per person. Please contact our = DGK Mike Weiglein for more information. (546-1794)

A v= ery big thank you goes out to <= span style=3D'font-size:11.0pt;mso-bidi-font-size:14.0pt;font-family:"Times New = Roman","serif"'>Paul Dugan who repair= ed our Council air conditioner on a very hot afternoon. The council appreciates all of Paul’s hard work around the council home.

Council Chaplain

The council thanks Msgr. John T. Frey for his service to the council.

Msgr. John will now have the title of Chaplain Emeritus. Father Krzysz= tof Wtorek is our new council chaplain. The council thanks these two men for their vocation.

A summer movie=

Supreme Knight Carl A. Anderson, with the backing of the Order’s Board of Directors, is recommending that Knights support = Bella, a major motion picture to be released this summer. Bella, who= se star and producers are Knights, won the Toronto Film Festival’s People’s Choice Award. “If we can get millions of people to see this film, we are going to save lives,” Anderson said. “We can get people= to understand what we mean when we talk about a culture of life, or what it me= ans to live a Catholic life. Our support of this movie can be the start of something great”
