Let’s stay focused on our new membership goal.  We recruited over 50 members this past Columbian year. Let us help our Membership Director Steve Wells to earn Century Club by gaining 100 new members. 

 

Ladies Auxiliary

The Ladies Auxiliary will meet on Wednesday, March 14th for their monthly meeting. New Members are always welcome. The Auxiliary meets on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at 7:30 PM. and holds a social evening the 4th Thursday of the month at 7:30PM at the Council Hall.  For more information call Debbie Farrell at 858-5357.

Nocturnal Adoration

The council’s next Nocturnal Adoration hour at St. John’s in Collingswood is scheduled for Thursday, March 1st at 8:00 PM. Please make every effort to join your brothers for this Santa Maria tradition.

 

Thank You…

The Doo Wop Night was great entertainment with the Street Corner Five. Our Chairmen, Chancellor Steve Wells, did a very nice job with the evening. The Street Corner Five will be back again next year.

 

Another Successful Sisters Night

Sister’s Appreciation Night was another huge success thanks to our House Committee and also to Walt Heim and PGK Nick Fesi. We were pleased to see so many Sisters on this special evening. This was our 35th annual Sisters’ Night with many more to come.

 

Founders Day

March 29, 2007 marks the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Knights of Columbus by Father Michael J. McGivney. 

To commemorate this event, Santa Maria Council will hold a first degree on that date.  If there is anyone you know who may be considering membership in the Knights of Columbus, now is the time to bring them on board. What a special day to join this wonderful fraternal organization.

 

St. Patrick’s Day Comedy Night

 If you are looking for an evening of fun and laughter, look no further! Santa Maria is hosting their 7th annual Comedy Night on Saturday March 10th. Tickets are $30 and include a full course dinner, beer and setups. Be there at 7:30 PM for an evening of entertainment and fun!  For more information, call Bro. Dan Olivieri at 854-7630.

 

Police Appreciation Night

On Thursday March 22nd, the Council will host the annual Police Appreciation Night.  What a great night to thank the men and women who protect our towns, day and night. The evening will begin at 6:30 PM. For additional information, contact Bro. Fred Guarnieri at 854-8933.

 

Spelling Bee Update

The County Spelling Bee was held on February 15th at our Council. We are proud to say that the County Spelling Bee 1st place winner was the winner from Santa Maria Council’s Bee.  The young student is from Collingswood Middle School and he will participate in the State Championship in March.

 

 

Charity Raffle Ticket Dinner

The semi-annual Charity Raffle Ticket Dinner will be held on Thursday March 15th at 6:30 PM. For details, contact Bro. John Buttil at 547-7096.

 

Membership Drive

On the weekend of March 10-11th, we will hold membership drives at Holy Saviour Church and St. Vincent Pallotti Church.  Please try to spend 15 minutes after a mass to encourage new members into the Council.

 

Open House

Do you enjoy being a Knight of Columbus? Why not share that feeling with potential brothers at our Open House on Friday, March 23rd 7:00 PM. For more info, contact Chancellor Steve Wells.

 

Check it out!

In case you haven’t noticed, the Council now has 10 new round resin tables to replace the old, worn out wooden tables. We thank our anonymous donor for his generosity to the Council. 

 

Helping with food

Brothers, we have a great tradition of providing food baskets at holiday time to those in need. Please help to fill our pantry so that we can prepare our Easter food baskets. Please remember to bring something to the council when you stop in. If you know of someone in need, contact Inside Guard Peter Barratta (310-7077).
