Membership News

Let’= s stay focused on our new membership goal. We recruited over 50 members this past Columbian year. There is still plenty of time to exceed last year’s membership numbers. Let us help = our Membership Director Steve Wells to earn Century Club by gaining 100 new members.

Nocturnal Adoration

The council’s next Noct= urnal Adoration hour at St. John’s in Collingswood is scheduled for Thursday, May 3rd at 8= :00 PM. Please make every effort to join your brothers for this Santa Maria tradi= tion.

Nominating Committee

The Nominating Committee has been working diligently fulfilling their duty of recommending a slate of Council Officers for the coming fraternal year.&nbs= p; John Erwin, PGK, DD has been appointed the chairman of the committee by the Grand Knight. Nominations will be read and taken at the second regular meet= ing in May as well as the night of the election, which is the first meeting in June.

Reminder…

When a family member dies, please ask the funeral director to publish that in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to S= anta Maria Council 1443, located at 350 Crystal Lake Avenue, Ha= ddon Township, NJ 08033. This will help us with our many charitable endeavors.

Second Degree

Santa Maria Council will host a seco= nd degree on May 8^th. If there is anyone who is a First Degree knight and would like to receive his second degree, now is the time. The degree is being held in honor of Fr. Robert Pasley. Please come out and show your support.

Ladies Auxiliary

Thank you = to all the Knights who supported the Spring Fling. The Ladies will meet on Wednesday, May 13th for their monthly meeting and on Thursday, May 24^t=
h for a social evening, 7:30PM at the Council.

Wine Tasting……..

Our fifth annual Toast for Life wi= ll be held on Saturday, May 12, 2007 from 7:00 to 10:00 PM at the K of C Hall on = Crystal Lake Avenue in Haddon Twp. All proceeds will be donated to 1^st Way of Collingswood, a crisis pregnancy center. Please join us to sample domestic and internatio= nal wines, light refreshments, music, door prizes, Chinese auction, and other surprises. It’s a great chance to say “Yes” to those who = have said “Yes” to life. Tickets are $20.00 per person. State Coun= cil Convention

The New Jersey State Council’s 2007 Convention will be held on May 18-19^TH at the Convention Ce= nter in Wildwood. Please call Gene Howard Jr. at 856 795-9066, after 7:00 PM, for additional details.

Vocations Golf Tournament<= /b>

The James P. Lowe Memorial Golf Tournament will be held on Friday June 8^th=. Brothers, this is our main e= vent for raising funds to support our scholarship program for diocesan vocations.
