Stem-Cell Research Referend=
um
The
November 6 ballot will contain a referendum asking you to approve the State=
of
New Jersey making grants of $450 million over the next 10 years. All Stem C=
ell
Research will be eligible for the grants. New Jersey will receive
repayment only if the research is fruitful. Our Church strongly supports Ad=
ult
Stem Cell Research, which has been very successful and does
not involve the taking of human life. However, Embryonic Stem Cell
Research requires destruction of the embryo (a human life in its very
earliest stage) and has not had any successful results. The
split of funds does not matter, as long as any human life might be
intentionally ended for research. Even if you are willing to pay more taxes=
to
support a program like this, before you vote, think about how this referend=
um,
if passed, will further diminish the value of a human life in
our state.
