Nocturnal Adoration

The council’s next       Noct= urnal Adoration hour at St. John’s in Collingswood is scheduled for Thursday, September 6^th at 8:00 PM. Please make every effort= to join your brothers for this Santa Maria tradition.

Ladies Auxiliary

The = Ladies Auxiliary will meet on        =

the 2^nd Wednesday of each month at 7:30 PM. The auxiliary also holds a social evening on the 4^th Thursday of each month at the Council Hall. Please encourag= e your wife or daughters to join this group of ladies.

Reminder…

When a family member dies, please ask the funeral director to publish that in lieu of flowers, please make a memorial donation to S= anta Maria Council 1443, located at 350 Crystal Lake Avenue, Hadd= on Township, NJ 08033. This will= help us with our many charitable endeavors.

Work is in= the final stages for this year’s ad book. The proceeds from this project benefit the Santa Maria Catholic High School Scholarship Fund as well as ma= ny other projects. The Hoagies are Back

Be Involved

We as Knights should support our parish priests.= Take the time after mass and speak with your pastor. Ask him what you as a Knight can do around the parish. Join a committee, be an usher or Eucharistic Mins= ter. We have a great vocation as Knights, and we sho= uld share that vocation with other Catholic men. Just remember our principles of charity, unity and fraternity. Remember to carry a form 100 with you= and ask someone to join the order.

A v= ery big thank you goes out to our Hoagie Team for another outstanding sale and making of our now famous Hoagies. There are many membe= rs who participate in this and the council thanks them for their time and tale= nt.

Columbus Day Social

Our Columbus Day Social will take place on October 20th starting with cocktails= at 6:30 PM. The council will be celebrating its 98<= sup>th year. Please mark your calendar for this very special night. Call DGK Mi= ke Weiglein for more details.546 - 1794

Stem-= Cell Research

The November ballot will contain a referendum asking you to approve a State of = New Jersey bond issue for $450 million to provide funding for stem-cell researc= h. Our state has not made the distinction between embryonic stem-cell research= and adult stem-cell research and is likely to award grants for both. This will = be a hot-topic this fall. Look for more information from the Knights and your parishes on why embryonic stem-cell research violates the principles of lif= e, while adult stem-cell research, which been much more fruitful, does not.
